BHIM KBL UPI App

BHIM KBL UPI App is a mobile application for all transaction needs, which facilitates Bank's customers to add own and other Bank accounts linked to his/her registered mobile number and initiate payment and collect fund transfer request based on virtual ID,Aadhaar number,Bank account number with IFSC code,mobile number with MMID.

Pre-requisite:

  • Android Mobile device/smartphone (4.0-Ice cream Sandwich & above ) with GPRS enabled (preferable Network 3G/4G/2G).
  • Mobile Number should be registered with Bank for receiving Transaction SMS Alerts.
  • Should have a Valid Debit card.

Registration process:

  • Customers who are acount holder of our Bank or Account holder of UPI Participating Other Banks can download the BHIM KBL UPI app from Google play Store or iOS Store.
  • After successful download and install of BHIM KBL UPI app,the app prompts for authorising to sending sms for identifying the registered mobile number with the Bank and for mobile device fingerprinting binding,On successful, registered Mobile number is displayed to the customer.The customer has to check the number displayed on the screen and then accept.
  • The customer has to create his/ her profile by entering details like name, virtual id (payment address), password etc.
  • What is Virtual Id?- Virtual Id is a unique identifier replacing of your Bank account number in furture for fund transfers/payments.It should be identifiable with your account number and can be alphanumeric without any special characters (ex:can be combination of shortform of your name,branchname,cityname,numbers related to your present account number)
  • Customer profile is created successfully.
  • In order to transact, customer has to go to option of "Add Bank Account".
  • In the next screen, customer has to select "Bank Name" from drop down list provided.
  • After selecting the bank, customer will get account linked to that particular mobile number in the next screen.
  • Customer will select the account number which he/she wish to add (should be linked to Valid debit card.)
  • After selecting A/c No, the same will get added in the profile.
  • Same steps can be followed for adding listed other Bank accounts linked with the registered mobile number.

Generating UPI PIN for the transaction:

  • In order to transact, customer need to generate the UPI PIN (UPI PIN is different from the PIN used for opening the BHIM KBL UPI app).
  • Customer selects the bank account for which he/she wants to initiate the transaction.
  • Customer has to select Register MBanking/Set UPI Credentials option.
  • On selection of the above option Debit card details screen is displayed.
  • Customer will now enter last 6 digit of Debit card number and expiry date.
  • Customer will now receive OTP on his/her registered mobile number
  • Customer will enter OTP along with UPI PIN of his/her choice on NPCI Library screen and click submit.
  • customer gets notification (successful or decline)

PUSH : sending money using virtual address

  • Customer logs into Bank’s UPI application.
  • After successful login, customer clicks on Added Account number (tab to more options) and click on Payment option.
  • Customer enters Beneficiaries/Payee virtual id, amount and account to be debited.
  • Customer gets confirmation screen to review the payment details and clicks on Confirm.
  • Customer now enters UPI PIN to authenticate the transaction
  • Customer gets successful or decline message for the transaction.
  • App notification for success/failure will be received.
  • Transaction SMS will be sent from the Bank on sucessful transaction.

PULL: Collection request

  • Customer logs into bank’s BHIM KBL UPI application.
  • After successful login, customer clicks on on Added Account number (tab to more options) and click on Collcection option.
  • Customer enters remitters / payers virtual id, amount and account to be credited.
  • Customer can set the expiry period for the collect request authorisation by the remitter (default 30 mintures - 1 day).
  • Customer gets confirmation screen to review the payment details and clicks on confirm.
  • The payer will get the notification on his mobile for request money.
  • Payer now opens his banks UPI app where he/she reviews payment request by clicking on Collect authorization option.
  • Payer then decides to click on accept or decline.
  • In case of accept payment, payer will enter M-PIN to authorise the transaction.
  • Transaction complete, payer gets successful or decline transaction notification.
  • Payee/Requester gets notification and SMS from bank for credit of his bank account.
  • Customer logs in to his bank’s BHIM KBL UPI application.
  • After successful login, customer clicks on Added Account number (tab to more options) and click on Balance enquiry option.
  • Name,linked virtual address and masked account number will be displayed.
  • Customer has to click on refresh button to get the latest Account balance.
  • Customers has to enter UPI PIN and after successful validation latest Account balance is updated.
  • Customer logs in to his bank’s BHIM KBL UPI application
  • After successful login, customer clicks on Transaction status option
  • Customer can view transaction status by selecting the date range.
  • Customer can raise query on the transaction status if any.

BHIM KBL UPI App FAQs

Unified Payments Interface branded as BHIM KBL UPI,is a new payment system that allows you to transfer money between two parties across Banks. example: Karnataka Bank (Bank A) account holder can transfer money to his another account in Bank B,similary can initiate fund transfer of his another account in Bank B to Bank C Non Karnataka Bank customer can use to initiate fund transfer from his/her account in Bank B to his/her another account in Bank C,similarily to Bank D which is not in UPI Service enabled Banks list.
You need to download the BHIM KBL UPI App of the Bank from Google PlayStore or iOS store depending on your Smartphone OS and register your credentials.
You should have registered your mobile number with the Bank, register for Mobile Banking solution.
In BHIM KBL UPI app you can perform both Financial and Non-Financial transactions, like Fund Transfer both remittance(Push) and collection(Pull), Merchants payments, Balance inquiry, Reset MPIN (transaction PIN), etc. U2U (PUSH): UPI to UPI transaction (Basis Virtual Address, Account Number+IFSC, Mobile Number+MMID). In this case, both the sending and the receiving bank are live on UPI. U2U (PULL): Means UPI to UPI transaction (Basis Virtual Address). In this case, both the sending and the receiving bank are live on UPI. U2I (PUSH): Means UPI to IMPS transaction (and Mobile Number & MMID). In this case, the sending bank is live on UPI but the receiving bank is live only on IMPS and not on UPI.
Unlike existing payments systems, in BHIM KBL UPI app you can Push (Send) and Pull (Collect) money without sharing your Banking credentials like Account number, IFSC Code, Mobile Number etc instead using only Virtual Payments Address.
In BHIM KBL UPI app you can add various Bank accounts and assign Virtual Payment Address for each account similar to your email id, for example john@kbl.
By default the transaction limit is fixed as Rs. 1 lac, however you can change the transaction limit to the desired amount.
At present Bank is not charging for UPI transactions.
BHIM KBL UPI app complies with all security standards of RBI and NPCI payment systems.
First you need contact the Bank and hot list your mobile number, then register again with the new mobile phone for BHIM KBL UPI.
On change of handset you need to register again by downloading the BHIM KBL UPI App. Change of Mobile Number process involves registering your mobile number with the bank and registration to BHIM KBL UPI afresh.
